    • other verbal nouns are the gerund and the infinitive
    • supine doesn't have tenses unlike the infinitive

two super hyper specific uses

  1. in the accusative
    • with verbs of motion to express purpose
      • quos tu ad me salutatum mane miseras
      • horatia in casam venit quintum necatam
    • verb of motion + supine expresses purpose
  2. in the ablative
    • with adjectives ending in -ile or ale as an ablative of respect
    • mirabile dictu - miraculous with respect to speech???
